we all know merlin was the resident sexyman of camelot, right. EVERYONE fell in love with him at least a LITTLE bit AND he’s immortal. so how many marriage proposals do you guys think he’s gotten over the thousand years he’s been alive
Hi guys! It’s been a while. This is the cover art for Poetry of Eternity, a Chinese language Merthur anthology that’s going to print this month. I don’t know if you can tell but this was supposed to be two separate works, I just wasn’t able to finish either before the deadline so… like is anyone really surprised. Maybe later this year I would be able to? Hopefully.
I’d also to rec this gorgeous fic: Dream A Little Dream by TheWiseMansFear. I enjoyed it immensely, especially the dialogue between the characters, and that it had so few hits just really baffled me like ??? (A friend later told me it’s cos of the formatting but I the further I read the less I noticed, I was so engrossed…) It’s really quite brilliant, I promise.
I think it’s funny how English people romanticize King Arthur like he wouldn’t hate them personally.
“He will return in Britain’s greatest time of need.” Yeah and the first thing he’s going to do is kill the royal family.
I feel very validated by this post (in that I wrote the returned Arthur as largely mocking the pomp of Buckingham palace and the uselessness of the royal family in general – “You could attack through ANY of those windows MERlin… and what exactly do they DO for their people anyway, MERlin?”)
As I understand it, he was Welsh, so I REALLY don’t get why English people think he’d be on our side!
It’s a bit more complicated than that. He was a Celtic Briton originally said to hold court in what is now Cornwall. His entire mission in life was keeping the Anglo-Saxons from taking over. Unfortunately, after he died, said invaders did take over, establishing the kingdom of England and pushing the remaining Britons which they called Waels, into a tiny chunk of land that came to be known as Wales after them. Centuries later, the English decided that because Arthur’s kingdom was situated in the territory that now belonged to them, he was their legend now even though he would actively want them dead.
